You can be a vegan and whine at people, thats hurting nobody but when you tell people to not take vaccines, you’re endangering public health.

If YOU mixed mercury, aluminium phosphate, ammonium sulfate, formaldehyde and viruses and injected it into someone, you’d kill someone because you have no pharmacological experience.

If someone in a lab mixed those together, they know how they work, they have medically assessed and peer reviewed evidence and strict guidelines to follow to create a safe and effective product. Why is it legal? Because they know what they’re doing and know how to spell “phosphate” and “ammonium”.

Why don’t YOU educate yourself instead of subscribing to the notion that all scientists are evil and want to poison you are your natural, vegan lifestyle. I say this as a fucking IMMUNOLOGIST, you are single handedly responsible for the skyrocketing resurgence of deaths caused by TB, measles and the worrying prospect of smallpox returning.

Let’s break this one down and give you some education.

Mercury is an element in the compound thiomersal which was part of many vaccines. It has been claimed with NO tangible evidence other than a multifaceted correlation that thiomersals cause autism. This has been investigated thoroughly and no causal link has been found.

Aluminium phosphate is an aluminium salt which is used as an adjuvant in vaccines. An adjuvant is a compound which causes an immune response to be higher and stronger, so that the immune system comes into contact with the attenuated virus more, so that it can recognise the antigens of the virus and provide immunity. They are a necessary part of the vaccine if you want it to work well.

Ammonium sulfate is used in the process of purifying the proteins in the synthesis of a vaccine. It is also found in bread and flour, so you’d better learn to enjoy rice if you want to avoid it.

Formaldehyde is used in the treatment and purification of vaccines and stops contamination. Most of this is removed before the vaccines is shipped, although some remains.

In my personal and scientifically backed opinion, the war against disease is a hundred fold more important than the mum-led war against vaccines. Do you want your child to die a slow, painful, agonising death? If not, then shut the fuck up with your so called “facts” you got from Yahoo Answers and get your kid vaccinated.

I am going to sound derogatory, but if you don’t have formal education in at least biology, you have no role to talk about the way vaccines should be done. You have no idea of the actual function and mechanism in which they work, and you have is a vague knowledge that mercury used to make people mad, formaldehyde is used in embalming and that ammonium sulfate and aluminium phosphate sound scary.

Vaccinate your kids if you want them to live. End of. If you don’t then you clearly don’t love your kids and would prefer to see them die of completely preventable diseases.

This has been a rage filled, alcohol induced response from a scientist.

But during the Q&A segment of Ueda’s presentation, a reasonable question was asked: Why do all of Ueda’s games feature a male protagonist as opposed to a female? Ueda noted a few reasons, but seemed to settle on the idea that “girls wear skirts,” and giving players camera control in this type of game could lead to inappropriate moments as the girl scampers around the environment. An honorable reason, right? Ueda doesn’t want to expose a female character.

But I was confused. “Girls don’t have to wear skirts,” I thought to myself. “Why is this an issue?” Ueda’s other reasons were just as unsettling. He notes that girls of that age wouldn’t be strong enough to traverse the environment properly, or at least in the same way a boy could.

I explained to Ueda that I attended his demonstration at TGS the previous year and was confused over the “joke” he told regarding the team’s choice to use a male character instead of a female character, all because of a skirt. I asked if there was a real reason that the characters in his games are male.

My question was translated, answered, and returned to me. Ueda explained: “That’s one of the reasons, of course. But another reason is that — if you particularly focus on this title — there is a scene where the boy is on the back of the Trico, for example, or climbing the wall. If we replaced the boy with a girl of the same age, she probably wouldn’t be physically strong enough to do such movements.”

“After more translating, Ueda concluded, “Yes, one is a more technical reason, because it’s not easy for girls to make acrobatic movements — I think it’s unrealistic. Maybe that’s just my personal [opinion]. But also, many of the players are male, and it’s easy for them to use the boy character.”

As good as these games are, there’s definitely some sexist shit going down here. I mean, to ignore this would be doing a disservice to everybody.

Going to the effort the creators clearly have to allow this sort of behavior speaks of some major problems, especially within the context of what the Bioware devs prioritized prior to the game’s release. Male-targeted romances vastly outnumber female-targeted ones. No same-sex romances were available on the game’s release. Women player characters can end up blackmailed into sex. Etc.

As far as I’ve heard, there’s not a male slave for players to abuse and torture. Only a woman gets this treatment in the game.

What makes this noticeably worse is that, according to some who have played the game, no matter how awful or horribly the player treats the Twi’lek slave, she’s still a romance option once the collar comes off.

Frankly, I find it disgusting. It’s certainly something that needs to be called out.

Really, no matter how fun the Metroidvanias are, Iga doesn’t like women Belmonts. Even the heroine in Order of Ecclesia(sp?), Iga’s stand-alone woman protagonist, wasn’t a Belmont.

Considering there’s only one game Iga made after OoE(That multiplayer thingy on PSN/XBLA), There’s not exactly real proof he’s legit stopped being sexist.

Even though Enterbrain publishes Thermae Romae and Kodansha publishesSpace Brothers, the two publishers are collaborating on a joint promotional campaign that launches in bookstores throughout Japan on September 25. The campaign puts Lucius, the Roman bath architect fromThermae Romae, in a spacesuit, whileSpace Brothers’ astronaut-in-training Mutta dons a toga. The resulting illustration will adorn posters and cardboard standups on display at bookstores. About 10 of those stores will also erect giant, 180-centimeter-tall (about 71-inch-tall) signs.

Thermae Romaeis running in Monthly Comic Beam magazine, whileSpace Brothers is running inMorning magazine. Both manga inspired live-action movies as well as television anime.Thermae Romae’s anime started this past January, whileSpace Brothers is still broadcasting.
